Map of Inclosure 1833
Document
During the Act of Inclosure of 1833 Edward H Green made an application which would see an increase in his estate to 124 acres. He, and a small handful of other wealthy landowners in the area including the vicar of the parish and Trinity College, were awarded their requests at the loss of the “remaining 20 landholders and commoners” according to newspaper reports at the time. This included part of Hinxton’s high street that, until then, continued past the Hall.
